Privacy Policy
We do not collect information that personally identifies you.
To control your Sonos system, you authorise Orto as a Controller App with Sonos. Sonos then provides us with a unique, randomly generated code that identifies your Sonos system and lets us control your Sonos players. This code gives us access to details about your Sonos system such as your favourites, connected music services and speaker names. We use this only to operate the app.
When you link an Apple TV or a Mac to your Orto iOS app, we upload the Orto Shortcuts you created in Orto (and only those) from your device to our servers, so we can replicate them on the linked device. These shortcuts may include the names of the speakers and favourites you chose and any phrase you entered for them.
Usage analytics. To understand which features are used and to find and fix problems, Orto collects anonymous usage data — for example which features you use (such as play/pause, changing volume, or playing a favourite), whether an action succeeded or failed, and basic technical information such as your device type, app version and operating‑system version. This data is linked only to a random identifier we generate for your Orto account; it is not linked to your name, email or Sonos account, and we never collect the names of the tracks, albums or playlists you play, your location, or your contacts. We do not use it to track you across other apps or websites. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy → “Share anonymous usage data.”
Support and purchases. If you contact us through the in‑app support form, we receive the email address and message you send so we can reply to you. If you make a purchase, your App Store receipt is validated to confirm your entitlement.
No information provided to us by Sonos or Apple is sufficient to personally identify any of our users.
